I love CrossFit and have been doing it for over 6 years, but as a strength and conditioning specialist realized very quickly that without appropriate self-imposed limitations, an athlete could get set up for failure very quickly with most CrossFit programming.
According to a 4 year research study done with over 3,000 CrossFit athletes of all levels, 39% of sustained a shoulder injury and 36% sustained a back injury. Furthermore, 15% of athletes in the study reported injury to one or both knees, 12% to elbows, and 11% to wrists.
