WOD #121 "Play the Hand"

8/3/2018

You know, it's interesting how often we allow ourselves to be victims of a situation. Self-defeating talk and excuses hinder our ability to do what we are actually capable of.

It's sad really, because we all have done it, some of us may recognize that we do it, but too much of the time we give in to the "I can't do anything to change it" mentality. It's not that you can't, you just don't feel like it.

Blunt? Yeah, a little. But, true. The sooner we stop lying to ourselves that we can't do something and acknowledge that we are actually allowing ourselves to be a victim or bystander of a situation, the sooner we can do something to change it.

You can't change the cards you're dealt, just how the hand is played. And yes, sometimes you have to know when to fold them, and sometimes you need to be brave and take the risk.
